YOUNGBLOOD REUNION

The 23rd Annual Youngblood Reunion was held Sept. 9th & 10th at the Sportsman’s Center in Blue Eye, MO. The excursion on Saturday was in search of the forgotten Shaver Cemetery, which was found located in the woods, near the once thriving town of Shaver on Long Creek.

On Sunday, Ertie Youngblood gave the invocation followed by the pot-luck dinner fit for a king and enough for his army. Many recipes were exchanged. Jeff Tobler was the lucky winner of the beautiful quilt made and donated by Ethel Gardner. Bill (Morris) Youngblood claimed title to being the oldest attending at age 93, while little Kayla of Saucier, MS was the youngest, at age two years. The Dave Kirbys of Westwood, CA traveled the furtherest. Sonny King oversaw the auction table, laden with a variety of donated items ~ always a fun part of the afternoon, with his entertaining rendition.
